Casting to a television or speaker works from the same screen, and the app will hand playback off to a connected device without interrupting the queue. The audience is close to everyone, which is both the strength and the difficulty. Someone following a handful of instructional channels gets a very different app than someone who lives in Shorts. Getting a feed that reflects what you want takes deliberate work: removing videos from history, using the not-interested and do-not-recommend controls, and pruning subscriptions occasionally. Parents have a separate YouTube Kids app for younger viewers, and the main app includes supervised-account options. Signed-out use works but loses history, playlists, and any personalization.
