Wordscapes merges two familiar formats. Below the screen sits a wheel of scrambled letters; above it sits a small empty crossword grid. You swipe through the letters to form a word, and any answer that belongs in the grid locks into place. Fill every slot and the level is complete. Puzzles are bundled into named sets, each presented over a photographic backdrop of a landscape, and the sets are grouped into longer regions that give the progression a loose travelogue framing. Early puzzles take a minute or less with four or five letters in play. Later ones add letters and blank slots until the grid demands systematic work rather than instinct. Valid words you form that are not part of the grid count as bonus words and pay out coins, which is the main way of funding hints. Hints reveal a single letter, an entire word, or shuffle the wheel. Coins also come from daily puzzles, login streaks, and optional rewarded video ads. There is no energy or lives system at all, so play is limited only by patience.
